Ainek Mizanek: It’s all in the eye!

“Ainek mizanek” is as traditional as it gets
Everywhere I lived, I had to adjust my recipes. Weirdly enough, the same ingredients didn’t have the same depth. Different soil and different weather do have a major impact on the ingredients for sure. “Ainek Mizanek” has never been so spot on to correct the final outcome of a dish.
From one blog to another
I started blogging since 2009 after my father passed away. I never wanted to only share recipes but rather tell a story. The very reason why I started blogging is to lock my memories with my family, does who departed and those who are among us.
Fast-forward 2020 with the world gone into lockdown, I realised I always dished out recipes with a story.
“A la Marocaine” is just an organic growth from my old blog “Fleur d’oranger, Masala & Co..”: Storytelling about Moroccan food and culture, dotted with personal memories from the Middle-East and Europe where I lived and still live is just where I want it to be at this stage of my life.
Indeed, I’m not the same person anymore, I use “Ainek mizanek” in dealing with people as well. Actually, I realised late in life that this expression was not only about food but about anything else in life, including relationships.
There are moments in life we enjoy a dish with an extra dose of heat or even less. So is life, it needs an extra dose of this, a lesser dose of that. It’s about adjustment.

While you will find some of the old recipes gradually creeping up but with a better layout (getting ahead of myself), I will try to add more non-food content which I hope you will enjoy reading!
